Rogue Elephant

What:
ROGUE ELEPHANT is a long-form improv and sketch comedy troupe based in New York City. The group peforms regularly at various comedy theatres in New York, and plays to packed audiences at a popular Friday night improv show they created and host at the Under St. Mark's Theatre. Running for over three years, it has inspired a number of other comedy shows to open in the same venue. Rogue Elephant formed in 2004 after its members met in improv classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre; all seven members have gone on to perform with UCB house teams. A seven-time winner of the UCBT's "Cagematch" competition, the group has also performed at the venerable IO Theatre in Chicago; various colleges on the east coast; around New York at such venues as the Red Room and Kraine theatres, CBGB's Lounge, Variety Underground, Ash Wednesday, and the People's Improv Theater (PIT); and, for three years running, at New York's annual Del Close Improv Marathon. Individual members' credits include national commercials, dramatic theater off-off-Broadway, a slew of sketch shows at the UCB Theatre, the web-based reality series Project Improviser, MTV's Damage Control, The Graham Norton Effect, The Chappelle Show, Screenvision, short video pieces for Channel102.net and Time Inc's OfficePirates.com, and emceeing for the International Federation of Competitive Eating (really).
