Apollo 12

What:
Apollo 12 was formed in 2002 from existing Phoenix Improvisors beginning to move into longform improvisation. The members of Apollo 12 have since studied under many famed improvisors, but have not directly adopted the philosophy of any particular school of thought. Instead, we combine the ideas with our own to create our performances. Above all else, we strive to present our show as a cohesive whole vs. a string of unrelated scenes – even at the expense of being “funny”. We accomplish this through a great deal of literary study and experimentation with various literary techniques. Our troupe was created of individuals who refused to play dumb. As a result our expertise lies in mathematics history and literature more than pop-culture.
