Based off an audience suggestion, a ‘Stop-and-Go’ opening serves as inspiration for a miscellany of scenes. True to its name, MacGuffin [a term used to describe an event, character or object that motivates the scene forward but isn’t what the scene is about] is one step ahead of the audience’s expectations. This group flourishes on aggressive edits causing all members on board to establish strong initiations and to quickly explore and heighten the scene before the audience’s attention is wrung, spun, and flung further into the theme of the show. 

Members of the group have studied under New York’s finest comedy clubs including the Upright Citizens Brigade, Gotham City Improv, and The PIT. The group rehearses weekly under the direction of Dave Storck (UCB/Gotham City). Since Fall of 2008, MacGuffin has had a standing show at The City located in The Broadway Comedy Club every other Monday. MacGuffin has also been invited to play with other groups including Sprinkles in Long Island City and in the Magnet’s Sunday Night INFERNO.
