It's founded on the psychological belief that the events of one's day affect his dreams at night. Therefore, The Dream NYC seeks to improvise one audience member's dreams that night. The cast interviews an audience member (or "Dreamer") about the events of his day. They ask the Dreamer to start from the moment he woke up to the moment he arrived at the theater. From their questions, the cast seeks to pull real details from the Dreamer's day that they can use as information for scenes, characters, or even general themes. Following the interview, the cast performs a longform improv set with one cast member playing the Dreamer. The set relies heavily on pattern and repetition. There are no formal edits in the form, because it strives to create a dream-like set of scenes where we see the Dreamer moving from one event to another. Instead of simply "Yes, and..."ing each other, the cast also looks for ways to "Yes, and..." patterns that emerge in the piece. What it yields is a comedic improv show that is more thematically focused, with one strong character study that anchors each set. 	"extra_info" => "The Dream NYC is inspired by the Dream form at iO (Improv Olympic) in Chicago. It's founded on the psychological belief that the events of one's day affect his dreams at night. Therefore, The Dream NYC seeks to improvise one audience member's dreams that night.

The cast interviews an audience member (or "Dreamer") about the events of his day. They ask the Dreamer to start from the moment he woke up to the moment he arrived at the theater. From their questions, the cast seeks to pull real details from the Dreamer's day that they can use as information for scenes, characters, or even general themes. 

Following the interview, the cast performs a longform improv set with one cast member playing the Dreamer. The set relies heavily on pattern and repetition. There are no formal edits in the form, because it strives to create a dream-like set of scenes where we see the Dreamer moving from one event to another.

Instead of simply "Yes, and..."ing each other, the cast also looks for ways to "Yes, and..." patterns that emerge in the piece. What it yields is a comedic improv show that is more thematically focused, with one strong character study that anchors each set. ",
