shows end up being quite different. If accepted, the 11th DCM would mark Omelet’s fourth year at the festival that they so very much love to be a part of. In 2006, Fran and Cate first brought Omelet to the marathon when Fran was eighteen and Cate merely seventeen years old. The strengths of the show lie within the strikingly grounded characters themselves, Queenie (McKearn) and Joy (Freedman). Queenie and Joy are unmistakably the older women of the mid-American family. The banter between the two old chums, alongside the beautiful friendship the two women share is something quite sacred; the heart of the show if you will. Omelet was originally put up in 2005 at Second City Chicago under the direction of Piero Proaccini. Since then Omelet has been molded by Procaccini and Jordan Klepper. This past winter Omelet was lucky enough to headline a weekend at the Philadelphia Improv Theater. When not performing “Omelet” on the East Coast, Fran McKearn and Cate Freedman are both two of the youngest and most promising members of the Second City Chicago Conservatory. Cate Freedman is a regular performer at iO Chicago (formerly Improv Olympic) with house teams “Hindenburg”, “Fat Kid”, and is part of the remounting of the cult classic “Dinner for Six” at the theater. 	"extra_info" => "Omelet is a two woman improvised show in which the characters are always the same, but the shows end up being quite different. If accepted, the 11th DCM would mark Omelet’s fourth year at the festival that they so very much love to be a part of. In 2006, Fran and Cate first brought Omelet to the marathon when Fran was eighteen and Cate merely seventeen years old. The strengths of the show lie within the strikingly grounded characters themselves, Queenie (McKearn) and Joy (Freedman). Queenie and Joy are unmistakably the older women of the mid-American family. The banter between the two old chums, alongside the beautiful friendship the two women share is something quite sacred; the heart of the show if you will. Omelet was originally put up in 2005 at Second City Chicago under the direction of Piero Proaccini. Since then Omelet has been molded by Procaccini and Jordan Klepper. This past winter Omelet was lucky enough to headline a weekend at the Philadelphia Improv Theater. When not performing “Omelet” on the East Coast, Fran McKearn and Cate Freedman are both two of the youngest and most promising members of the Second City Chicago Conservatory. Cate Freedman is a regular performer at iO Chicago (formerly Improv Olympic) with house teams “Hindenburg”,  “Fat Kid”, and is part of the remounting of the cult classic “Dinner for Six” at the theater. Freedman is also is joining Improv Acadia in Bar Harbor, ME this summer as part of their 6th season. “Omelet” is a true labor of love and Fran McKearn and Cate Freedman would love nothing more than to continue the honor of bringing “Omelet” to the Del Close Marathon for the rest of their lives.
