The troupe's members bring a unique mix of improv styles to bear - combining training from The Annoyance, iO Chicago, Second City & the Upright Citizens Brigade to create their own unique voice.

Members currently perform at The Annoyance Theater, with 4 different active iO Harold teams, Twisty: Second City House Ensemble, and with numerous other theaters & groups all over Chicago.
Members have also performed at over a dozen other comedy festivals with other troupes (including the last 4 Del Close Marathons).

Counter-Productive Lover has performed at The Del Close Marathon in New York City, at Comedy Worx in Raleigh, North Carolina as well at Theaters all over Chicago for the past two years.
